New Work Scotland 2011

Some further MFA graduate successes to report.......the list of artists who will be taking part in this years New Work Scotland Programme has just been announced and Oliver Braid, Amelia Bywater, Christian Newby and Joey Villemont are amongst those to be slected. Congratulations to them.

2011 saw the introduction of a theme, Mining the Horizon,
and more critical discourse. All selected practitioners will now take part in a weekend retreat together with Collective, the selectors and invited guests, at Hospitalfield House. Participants will also undertake a residency at Studio Voltaire, London or MAP, Glasgow.

NWSP is a Collective initiative recognised as giving Scottish based graduates their first significant visual art project or commission. Through an annual open application NWSP identifies and supports some of the most promising new practitioners working in the visual arts in Scotland - providing them with the opportunity to make new work and bring it to the attention of a wider public.
