Martin Boyce at the Museum für Gegenwartskunst, Basel

Martin Boyce

25.04.2015–16.08.2015 | Museum für Gegenwartskunst, Basel

Curator: Søren Grammel

Exhibition opening: Friday, April 24, 2015, 6.30pm

Martin Boyce's exhibition at the Museum für Gegenwartskunst is the artist’s first solo Museum show, and will primarily focus on sculpture and installation covering a fourteen year period, such as the multipart Do Words Have Voices—exhibited for the first time since it’s original showing—for which Boyce received the prestigious Turner Prize in 2011. Lesser-known projects include a glimpse in to Boyces personal image archive which consists of hundreds of collaged and altered magazine pages. So far not publicly exhibited by the artist these images provide numerous surprising insights into the artists sources of inspiration even for those familiar with his oeuvre. Boyce was born in Hamilton, South Lanarkshire (UK), in 1967, and studied at the Glasgow School of Art.
